I received the PhD in Physics at the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mérida, México. My research focuses on the theoretical study of physical properties in Dirac materials, such as strained graphene, topological insulators, photonic graphene, and pseudo-spin one systems (photonic Lieb lattice, ultracold atoms trapped in an optical lattice, and dice lattice), using effective models based on analytical calculations. One of the main goals is to achieve a deep understanding of the anisotropy and inhomogeneity on physical properties in those systems, which could be useful for designing novel electronics and optics devices.
