He is a professor and researcher at the Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías (CUCEI) of the University of Guadalajara. He received the B.Sc. degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the University of Guadalajara in 2005, and the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution in 2011. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from CINVESTAV, Guadalajara Unit, in 2016. During his doctoral studies, he carried out a research stay at SINTEF Energy Research, Trondheim, Norway.
He is currently a member of the National System of Researchers (Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores, SNII), administered by the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (CONAHCyT), Mexico. His research interests include electromagnetic transient simulation and calculation, frequency-dependent modeling of power system components, and power quality in electric power systems.
He has been actively involved in the organization of high-impact international academic events. He served as Local Organizing Committee Chair of the XIV International Conference on High Voltage and Electrical Insulation (ALTAE 2019), held from October 28 to 31, 2019, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He also served as Local Organizing Committee Co-chair of the 16th International Conference on Power Systems Transients (IPST 2025), one of the most prestigious international conferences in the field of electric power systems, held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from June 8 to 12, 2025.
