Professor Rebeca Padilla's expertise lies in audience studies and information and communications technologies for development and social change. The sociocultural study of media practices and their contribution to empowering citizenship equality among diversity has been the core of her interest. Full-time professor at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, México. Member of the basic academic nuclei of the Ph. D. in Sociocultural Studies, of the Master in Social Sciences and Humanities Research and Leader of the Academic Body of Sociocultural Studies. She is a PRODEP Profile professor and member of the National System of Researchers of CONACYT, level 2. At the UAA, she is currently a member of the H. Governing Board.
Also, she is an associate of the Mexican Association of Communication Researchers (AMIC), the Latin American Association of Communication Researchers (ALAIC) and, the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR). And collaborates as part of the Advisory Council of the Local System for the Protection of Human Rights of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents and of the Commission for Information and Communication Technologies.
