As part of the activities of the Latin American Network of remote sensing and forest fires (RedLatif) and the Latin American Network of Monitoring and Studying of Natural Resources (SERENA), I have had opportunity to participate during of development and assessment of algorithms AQL2004 (burned areas in Latin America - 2004) and AQM2008 (burned areas in Mexico - 2008 ) using MODIS composite. Actually, I am interested to carry out multitemporal analysis of burned land using Landsat and its relationships between climatic variability and carbon emission.
