JIMENEZ SANDOVAL, ADRIAN

My life plans are focused on teaching, academic research, participation in civil society organizations and the public sector, dedicated to human rights and the construction of drug policies, particularly on cannabis, from a risk and harm reduction perspective.

Since 2024, I have been teaching Political Theory I and II, Comparative Political Systems and Social Movements and Politics in Political Science and Public Administration and International Relations at the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán (UNAM). Previously, during 2019 and 2020, I was a teacher in the diploma course on Political System and Mexican Electoral System. In addition, I have collaborated in research projects both in this faculty and in the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO). I have also taught modules in the Public Administration program at the Open and Distance University of Mexico (Universidad Abierta y a Distancia de México).

In the public sector, I currently work at the Institute for the Attention and Prevention of Addictions in Mexico City, specifically in the Direction of Dissemination and Prevention of Addictions. There I develop diagnoses on the places of cannabis consumption in public spaces and health authorizations for the self-consumption of this psychoactive substance.

In the field of civil society organizations, I am president of the Oaxacan association Cannabis Libre A.C., dedicated to the prevention of addictions.
