The overall aim of Dr. Zamora's effort is to seek a deeper understanding of the issue of migration from a multidimensional (demographics, historical, spatial, social, economic, political and cultural) perspective and through a transnational prism. He is primarily interested in exploring the transformations that are created through the reach and characteristics of the new migratory dynamic, which arise from changes in international relationships, institutions, legislation, structures and practices of the receiving and sending States, through progress in the building of trans-territorial citizenship. This also includes gender relations; geographical variations; migratory circuits and patterns; the use and destination of family and collective remittances; advances in the structuring and organization of migrant communities; setbacks in the area of human rights; and the development of new social, cultural and belief practices among those migrants.
