PEREZ AGUERO, MARIA CRISTINA

I am a full-time Professor (Titular B, PRIDE C) at the Faculty of Psychology of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI). My professional work integrates clinical, forensic, and educational psychology, with a strong commitment to scientific rigor, ethical standards, and the protection of children and adolescents.

At UNAM, I am responsible for the Research Group in Legal and Forensic Psychology, where I coordinate interdisciplinary projects, direct student research, and promote the development of empirical, methodological, and practice-oriented scholarship in the field. I also supervise undergraduate and graduate theses and lead competency-based clinical and forensic training initiatives for psychology students.

My main areas of research include forensic interviewing, child sexual abuse assessment, separation and divorce processes, parental interference, trauma-informed practice, expert testimony methodology, and digital pedagogy in higher education.

I am the Founding President of the National Association of Forensic Psychology–Mexico (ANPJ MX) and currently serve as the Director of Research for the Ibero-American Association of Legal Psychology (AIPJ), fostering collaborative research networks across Latin America and Europe focused on legal psychology and child protection.

I am also the creator and academic lead of UNAMente Podcast, an educational innovation project that produces audio and video materials to support psychology teaching and competency-based learning. My academic work emphasizes ethical forensic methods, child protection systems, scientific validity in expert reports, and the design of high-quality educational resources for psychologists.
