I am a full professor at the National Pedagogical University in Mexico City. My main production has been in the teaching and learning of fractions, although I have also conducted research in the field of number sense in preschool, rates and ratios, teacher training and teaching and learning of the number systems of the Mexican indigenous languages. I have written multiple research articles. I have also written three chapters of specialized books and two textbooks. I am a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (Level 1, since 2006). In 1997 I was awarded a J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship to pursue doctoral studies in the USA.
