RODRIGUEZ ANAYA, LIBIA ZULEMA

Researcher at the Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora (ITSON) in Mexico, where I am part of the Aquatic Biosystems academic group. I am a CONAHCYT Professor (Investigadora por México - IxM) specializing in the application of genomic biotechnology and bioinformatics for the study of emerging pathogens. I study the molecular genetics of free-living amoebas such as Naegleria fowleri, Acanthamoeba spp. and Balamuthia mandrillaris, which can cause serious infections in humans and animals. I also use omics technologies, such as transcriptomics and metagenomics, to investigate the molecular mechanisms and microbial diversity of shrimp and other aquatic organisms. I have published several articles on these topics in internationally renowned scientific journals. In addition, I have directed undergraduate, master's and doctoral theses. Currently, I am responsible for research projects funded by various institutions and a member of the National System of Researchers.
