RANGEL MONTOYA, EDELWEISS AIRAM

I am Dr. Edelweiss Rangel Montoya, and I am currently working as a postdoc in the Phytopathology Laboratory of CICESE. I am a Biochemical Engineer from the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila, and my undergraduate thesis was the bioprospecting of arsenite-oxidizing bacteria in the Comarca Lagunera region. Subsequently, I completed both the master's and the doctorate at CICESE in the Life Sciences program at the Phytopathology Laboratory, with Dr. Rufina Hernández, where I have been working since then on fungi associated with trunk diseases affecting grapevine crops. The master's thesis was ''Response to melanin inhibitors and stress conditions in the fungus Lasiodiplodia theobromae'', and the doctoral thesis was ''Characterization, evaluation of the colonization process and search for biological control strategies of fungi of the family Botryosphaeriaceae associated with grapevines in Mexico''.
