NUÑEZ COLIN, CARLOS ALBERTO

Agronomist with speciallity in Plant Sciences by Plant Sciences depertment of the Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Mexico (2001), Master of Science (2004) and Doctor of Science (2008) in Horticulture by the Horticulture Institute of Universidad Autónoma Chapingo. The main topics of his studies are about Characterization of Plant Genetic Resources, Quantitative and Population Genetics, Biostatistics, and Agricultural Biotechnology. Between 2008 to 2015 he was titular researcher in the fruit crop research program in the Mexico's National Institute of Research for Forestery, Agriculture and Livestock (INIFAP) in the Bajío Experimental Field. Since 2015, he is Professor of genetics and breeding in the Biotechnology Engineering Program of the Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico. He belong to Mexico's National Researchers System (SNI-CONACYT) as national researcher since 2010. Currently he is National researcher level II. He worthy of the Alfred Krezdom Award in 2004 by Interamerican Society for Tropical Horticulture, the Arturo Fregoso Urbina Award in 2009 by Universidad Autónoma Chapingo and the ISHS medal in 2013 by International Society for Horticultural Science. Besides, he was President of the Interamerican Society for Tropical Horticulture in 2013.
