TOVAR ROMERO, HUGO ANTONIO

Dr. Hugo Tovar is a Computational Biologist with a background in Biology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he also earned his Master’s and PhD degrees in Biological Sciences. Since 2016, he has been a researcher at the National Institute of Genomic Medicine (INMEGEN), where he focuses on Systems Biology, Computational Genomics, Expression Analysis, and Cancer Genomics. His current research centers on transcriptional regulation in cancer. In addition to his primary research, he has also leveraged his computational skills in studies related to aging and plant biology, including work on Arabidopsis thaliana root development. Dr. Tovar is a Level 1 member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, SNI) and currently holds the position of Researcher C in Medical Sciences at the Ministry of Health. He also serves as a Review Editor for Frontiers in Systems Biology Research.
