SANCHEZ ROJAS, GERARDO

Biologist and Master of Science for the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Doctor of Science (Ecology and Natural Resource Management) for the Institute of Ecology AC.

Full-time Professor in the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH), He is the leader of the Biological Conservation Laboratory. Member of the National System of Researchers since 2000.

He has published 85 articles in national and international journals; 22 book chapters, and he is the editor or author of 9 Books. It has trained 14 students at the undergraduate level, 14 at the master's Degree, and three at the doctoral Degree. In addition, he has taught a course as a visiting professor at the National University of El Salvador; the University of Chile, the University of Alicante in Spain, the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala; the Autonomous University of Querétaro; and the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez, and El Instituto de Ecología A.C.

His line of research has focused in the last 30 years on animal ecology, studying the populations of cervids and animal communities, mainly mammals, and how they are affected by fragmentation, climate change, and other human activities.
