SALAS CORONADO, RAUL

Raul Salas Coronado is a Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Veracruzana zone Poza Rica/Tuxpan, its draft thesis, directed by Dr. Angelina Flores Parra, researcher of Chemistry Department CINVESTAV. Raúl Salas-Coronado developed the thesis entitled "Synthesis and study of the reactivity of acid-β-benzoylpropionic" and was presented in the premises of the Faculty of Chemistry in Poza Rica, Veracruz, on 2 October 1998. After, did studies of doctorate in Chemical Sciences from the CINVESTAV. The doctoral thesis was entitled "Influence of labile bonds in the structure and conformation of ethanes and α-, β- butanes, and γ-functionalized" and was directed Dr. Angelina Flores Parra September 1996 June 2002. During the period July 2002 to June 2003 conducted a Postdoctoral stay in the program of molecular engineering at Mexican Petroleum Institute (MPI). During his stay in theIMPI, he participated in the formulation of corrosion inhibitors derived from amino alcohols. Since September 2003, he is Professor-Researcher attached to the Agribusinesses Institute of Technological University of the Mixteca (UTM). The Dr. Salas has taught physical chemistry, instrumental analysis, analytical chemistry and thesis seminar in the bachelor of Food Engineering, as well as courses for quantitative chemical analysis and modern instrumental methods in the Master of Science: Natural Products and Foods. Between September 2004 and September 2008 he was director of the Agribusinesses Institute. In late 2008, it was assigned the coordination of activities for the creation of the Master of Science. Natural Products and Foods (MSNPF) jointly with Dr. Norma Santos Sanchez, these activities were completed in mid 2009. A from this year until March 2013 and was the coordinator of the MSNPF. In 2011, under the coordination of Dr. Salas, the MSNPF was recognized as Quality Graduate Program granted by the PNPC. Also, between 2007 and 2011 he was Head of the Academic Group "Chemical-Biological Sciences", recognized by the Ministry of Public Education of Mexico. In 2010 he led to his Academic Group to "in consolidation" level. His research is related to the study of natural products in plants and food; and evaluation of the effect of thermal processing on the composition of pigments and antioxidants in food. He has directed eigth theses undergraduate and two master, has published seventeen research papers in international journals and a book chapter. Dr. Salas is referee of several journals. He is a member of Accredited Assessors Registry (Reniecyt) CONACYT in Area 2 "Biology and Chemistry". He has the distinction of National Level 1 (SNI 1) and is a member of the "American Chemical Society".
