SABIDO RAMOS, ANDREA

Biologist from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. I did my undergraduate thesis and graduate studies at the Institute of Biotechnology (IBt) of UNAM in the cell engineering and biocatalysis department.

On the other hand, I have done postdoctoral research at CINVESTAV, IBt and currently at UNAM, where I am doing a postdoctoral stay granted by CONACyT in the laboratory of Prof. Amelia Farrés González-Sarabia at the Faculty of Chemistry.

I have scientific publications in international and national journals. She has participated in several national and international congresses, as well as in the dissemination and popularization of science.

I am part of the editorial committee of the journal BioTecnología published by the Mexican Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering (SMBB, for its acronym in Spanish), besides being a member of the Awards Committee of the National Board of the same society. On the other hand, I am the General Director of the Network for the Dignification of Scientific Research (RedDic, for its acronym in Spanish).

As a teacher, I have coordinated and taught undergraduate courses in the Master's and Doctoral Program in Biochemical Sciences at IBt-UNAM, I have participated as a lecturer at the Universidad del Valle de Cuernavaca and at the Universidad Politécnica del Estado de Morelos in the Biotechnology Engineering program, and as a Visiting Full Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Cuajimalpa unit, I taught undergraduate courses at the Biological Engineering program.

My lines of research focus on the design of genetic engineering tools and their application in the generation of recombinant microorganisms for use as biofactories in the synthesis of useful products through environmentally friendly processes and renewable carbon sources. Currently, my research is focused on the functional characterization of recombinant PET plastic degrading enzymes.
