ROMERO ROMERO, SERGIO

I am a biochemist with strong organizational, research, and teaching skills developed through collaborative projects. Currently, I work as an Associate Professor at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. My academic training has been dedicated to exploring various facets of proteins, including folding, evolution, sequence-structure-function relationships, design, stability, ligand binding, and biophysical characterization methods.

My current focus is on harnessing my expertise in protein biochemistry and design to create stable macromolecules with novel properties and functions, as well as to characterize their conformational landscapes. This involves utilizing both established physical-based techniques and state-of-the-art artificial intelligence-driven approaches.

Additionally, I am deeply committed to Science Communication, which I see as fundamental for the effective dissemination of knowledge to society and for showcasing the fascinating world of proteins.
