I hold a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Manchester and I held four postdoctoral positions in the USA and UK. Currently, I am a Senior Researcher in Vaccinology at the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford. Outcomes of my postdoctoral research are 31 publications with both first and contributor authorships. In terms of intellectual property activities, I am an inventor and collaborator in 4 vaccine-related patents. I possess teaching experience and have delivered lectures, workshops and conferences, in the UK and internationally.
My scientific interest is to develop immunological tools (such vaccines or immunotherapy) to prevent or contain infectious pathogens (such as virus or parasites). For this, I combine bioinformatics with molecular design and structurally-based interactions between antigenic epitopes and antibodies. My main goal is the establishment of basic/translational research and capacity building for pandemic preparedness and antigen discovery.
