My research focuses on conservation ecophysiology to assess the vulnerability of biodiversity, mainly terrestrial vertebrates from extreme environments. I have a special interest in ecophysiological studies under mechanistic approaches, as well as the regulatory mechanisms of fauna with its biotic and abiotic environment. I am also interested in the ecological effects of climate change on biodiversity and the risk of extinction of vertebrates facing anthropic factors. My study groups are amphibians and reptiles. I have worked in different systems, including the Patagonian steppe and the arid Chaco in South America, the Galapagos Islands, and the Ecuadorian Amazon, as well as the deserts of Mojave, Sonora, Chihuahua, Tehuacan-Cuicatlan, and the Baja California peninsula.
