HERNANDEZ GONZALEZ, JULIO ANTONIO

I am Julio Antonio Hernández González, a biochemical engineer graduated from the Technological Institute of La Paz, B.C.S. During my undergraduate studies, my final work was focused on researching proteins with enzymatic activity in the digestive system of shrimp as part of my degree requirements. Subsequently, I continued my studies and obtained a master's degree, where I specialized in the identification of genes with inhibitory functions in digestive enzymes of shrimp.

After completing my master's degree, I had the opportunity to work in research laboratories in plant biotechnology and molecular plant biology. Furthermore, I broadened my horizons by traveling to Beijing, China, where I participated in a specialized course on biotechnology and its application in the food industry.

The experiences mentioned above, along with several courses in bioinformatics, provided me with a solid foundation to pursue my doctorate, in which I focused on studying the genomes of bacteria from the Lactobacillaceae family associated with marine hosts. Currently, I am interested in developing a research line that studies marine microorganisms and their genomes for biotechnological and health purposes.

Regarding my future expectations and dreams, I aspire to contribute to the advancement of biotechnology and research in biological sciences, specifically in the utilization and conservation of marine resources and human sustainability. My desire is to inspire and guide future students interested in biotechnology by sharing my experiences and knowledge acquired throughout my career.
