Rubén Alonso Carbajal-Márquez born in 1986 in Aguascalientes, Ags., Mexico. He received his Bachelors' degree in Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA), at Aguascalientes, Mexico, his Master of Science in Use, Management and Conservation of Natural Resources from Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas del Noroeste (CIBNOR), at La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, Doctor in Science in Ecology and Sustainable Development from El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR), at Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico, and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at UAA . He is member of Conservación de la Biodiversidad del Centro de México A.C., where he is involved in research, wildlife monitoring, and environmental education. Also is member of the Viper Specialist Group of IUCN. His research interests include natural history, ecology, systematics and conservation of the herpetofauna.
