Dr. Carlos Augusto Flores-Meneses is a physicist specializing in optical metrology, digital holography, and interferometry. He holds a B.S. in Applied Physics, as well as an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP). He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Optical Engineering of New Surfaces (LIONS) within the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (ICAT) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Furthermore, he taught undergraduate courses in experimental and theoretical physics, mathematics, and scientific programming. His research trajectory focuses on the development of innovative methods for complex optical field reconstruction (amplitude and phase). His contributions include the design of self-calibrating phase-shifting interferometry algorithms, one-shot techniques via direct normalization, and simultaneous modulation of amplitude and phase steps for dynamic applications. This work has led to several high-impact publications in journals such as Optics and Lasers in Engineering, Optics Communications, and Applied Optics. Dr. Flores-Meneses is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNII, Candidate level). His professional service includes acting as a peer reviewer for prestigious international journals under IEEE, Optica (formerly OSA), and Elsevier. He has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences and is actively involved in scientific outreach programs.
