LIZARRAGA BRITO, JORGE ALFONSO

I am a dedicated researcher in quantum physics, focusing on two main areas: (1) analytic solutions to partial differential equations that describe physical systems governed by both Hermitian and non-Hermitian Hamiltonians, and (2) the analysis of electronic transport in out-of-equilibrium molecular-scale systems using advanced numerical methods such as non-equilibrium Green’s functions.

During my doctoral studies at the University of Guadalajara (U de G), I built a solid foundation in the quantum dynamics of charged particles in constant electromagnetic fields. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where I investigate electronic transport in two-dimensional materials such as graphene and phosphorene.

My academic productivity led to my appointment as a Candidate in the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI, for its acronym in Spanish) in 2025. In the same year, I became an official member of the Mexican Physical Society (SMF, for its acronym in Spanish), within the Solid State Division.

In addition to research, I am also engaged in teaching. Since 2024, I have been invited by the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos (UAEM) to lecture on subjects including electromagnetism, mechanics, algebra, and calculus for undergraduate students. At the Institute of Physical Sciences – UNAM (ICF-UNAM), I have taught advanced courses such as electromagnetism, classical mechanics, and quantum mechanics to students preparing for graduate studies. I have also taken part in the selection process for incoming master’s students, contributing to the evaluation of candidates applying to the graduate program. Besides, I have contributed as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, evaluating manuscripts.
