ORTEGA GUZMAN, JESUS EMMANUEL

Jesús Emmanuel Ortega Guzmán is a lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Chemistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and is currently pursuing international postdoctoral research opportunities in materials science and solid-state chemistry. He earned his Ph.D. in Sciences from the Institute of Physics at UNAM with honors, developing expertise in the design, synthesis, and characterization of functional inorganic materials.

His research focuses on solid-state chemistry, materials science, solid electrochemistry, and the magnetic properties of materials, with particular interest in energy-related and sustainable technologies. He has experience in the synthesis and physicochemical characterization of advanced materials using X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron microscopy (SEM/TEM), impedance spectroscopy, UV-Vis, IR, and Raman spectroscopies, as well as electrochemical techniques.

His current scientific interests include energy storage systems, catalytic materials, magnetic and spin-glass systems, and functional materials for sustainable applications. He is a Candidate Researcher in Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNII) and has authored peer-reviewed publications in the fields of functional materials and condensed matter physics, including ongoing research on spin-glass materials.
