ESPIN OCAMPO, JULIETA

Julieta Espín is a professor of International Relations at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), courses International Relations of the MENA and International Relations and Integration Processes in Latin America. She earned her Bachelor's degree in International Relations with honours from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She obtained her PhD in 2004 for her research on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), under the supervision of Bernabé López and Jesús Núñez.

Dr. Espín is specialist in Middle East affairs and migrations in Latin America and the MENA region. She has been lecturer at Mexican universities UNAM and Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and the Spanish Universidad Europea de Madrid. Espín is certified by the Spanish Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad Acreditación (ANECA), and granted as National Researcher Level 1 by the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (CONACYT, Mexico). She worked as Academic Coordinator and International Coordination at Universidad Europea Madrid (Spain) and from 2012 to 2024 she iwas an International Relations and International Business professor at the School of Social Science and Communications.
