Dr. Antonio Hurtado-Beltran holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Transportation Engineering (2017-2021) from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in the United States, having received a Fulbright-García Robles scholarship for graduate studies. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research into the operational performance of freeways, freight transportation, and disruptive technologies under the advisory of Professor Laurence R. Rilett, with his findings presented and published in various forums and journals including the Transportation Research Board and the American Society of Civil Engineers in the United States. Antonio's academic excellence was acknowledged when he received the esteemed "Sinha Prize for Best Paper" from the American Society of Civil Engineers for the best technical paper published in the ASCE Journal of Transportation Engineering, Part-A: Systems in the 2021 academic year. In addition to his academic pursuits, he has over 10 years of experience working as a project specialist in the General Directorate of Technical Services of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation in the Federal Government of Mexico. Antonio also holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Transportation Infrastructure, both from UMSNH. He currently holds a position as a Professor and Researcher in the School of Civil Engineering at UMSNH and is a member of the National System of Researchers (Level I) of CONACYT. His research interests revolve around traffic engineering, road safety, modeling and simulation of road networks, and GIS applied to transportation.
