He received the B.S. degree in industrial engineering, specialist in electronic in 1991, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering in 1995 and the Ph.D. degree in sciences of electrical engineering in 2014, all degrees from Instituto Tecnológico de la Laguna, Torreón Coah., Mexico, additionally he obtain his DEA advances studies diploma degree in electronic digital design from Universitat Politècnica de València in Valencia Spain in 2003.

His research interests are in the areas of robot control, nonlinear control, passivity bases control, mechatronics, electronic design, image and signal processing.

Ph.D. J. Sifuentes-Mijares is currently a research professor at the division of graduate studies and research from Instituto Tecnológico de la
Laguna, Torreón Coah., Mexico.
