Nancy Visairo Cruz received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electronical Engineering in Mexico in 1997, 1999, and 2004, respectively. Since 2005, she has been working as a Research Professor at the Centre for Research and Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Engineering of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Her two research areas are the development of automatic control schemes and supervisory systems, with applications in electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems, battery chargers, and AC microgrids. Her research consists of analyzing the system and its required applications and proposing the appropriate control and supervisory schemes to achieve the desired requirements, always considering the physical constraints and technological availability for their implementation, providing robust, reliable, and efficient systems. Her research has been made possible thanks to funding from the public and industrial sectors and has evolved from basic research to technological developments reaching TRL 6. Together with her two collaborators, she has created two research laboratories: the electric vehicle laboratory and the real-time digital simulation laboratory. In 2016, she had a sabbatical in Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Mexico, as a Research Specialist Level V. She is also a member of the National Research System at Level 1 of the SECIHTI, Mexico. She is co-author of more than 75 scientific articles with the participation of her 32 graduate students.
