My name is Guadalupe Cabañas-Sánchez. Since 2000, I have taught and conducted research at the Mathematics Faculty of the Autonomous University of Guerrero. The university is located in Chilpancingo, Guerrero, Mexico. In 2011 my PhD thesis received the Simón Bolívar special award from the from the Latin American Committee for Educational Mathematics (CLAME). My research interest cover both theoretical and practical aspect on Argumentation, Reasoning and Proof in Mathematics Education, in which forms of reasoning that are promoted via mathematics textbooks are studied, as well as that evidenced by students, mathematics teachers in training and in service. It also studies ways to produce conjectures, justify them and/or refute them in proving and empirical problems.
