He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Technological Institute of Querétaro, a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Research Center for Computing of IPN (CIC-IPN), and a Doctorate in Advanced Technology from the Research Center for Applied Science and Advanced Technology of IPN.
He worked 12 years as a project leader and research professor, developing technological solutions for the industry, government, and private sector at CIDESI of CONACyT (Center for Engineering and Industrial Development). During this time, he participated in several projects that generated patents and copyrights.
At CIDESI, he promoted project development in research areas such as computer vision, automatic video interpretation, and three-dimensional reconstruction. He also served as the Academic Coordinator of the Graduate Program and was involved in the scientific committee of CIDESI.
In the Directorate of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DIEE), he was an academic coordinator and professor, teaching courses related to Computer Vision, Image Analysis, Pattern Recognition, and other fields in various Master's and Doctoral programs. He supervised theses at the Specialty, Master's, and Doctoral levels.
Since 2021, he has been working as a research professor at the Faculty of Informatics, where he is responsible for the CIICCTE (Research and Innovation Center in Computer Science and Educational Technology), which he helped establish. Additionally, he was a committee member involved in creating the Data Science and Analytics degree program. His responsibilities include supervising undergraduate, Master's, and Doctoral theses, teaching relevant subjects, engaging in technological development and research, and collaborating with the productive sector.
Throughout his academic career, he has authored and co-authored internationally recognized scientific articles and supervised numerous Master's and Doctoral theses. His current research focuses on artificial perception for automatic scene interpretation, non-Turing computing models, associative computing, and machine learning. He is a regular reviewer for various scientific journals, a Mexican Artificial Intelligence Consortium of CONACyT member, and serves as an evaluator for RENIECYT.
