He is currently a full-time professor-researcher at the Department of Communication of the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (UAA), Mexico.
He is a member of the scientific or editorial committees of the journals "Sur Le Journalisme" (France); "Brazilian Journalism Research" (Brazil); "Balajú Revista de Cultura y Comunicación" (Mexico); and "Revista Mexicana de Comunicación" (Mexico).
He is a member of the National System of Researchers, Level II.
He served as President of the Mexican Association of Communication Researchers (AMIC) for the 2017–2019 term.
He was Head of the Department of Communication at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes for the 2011–2014 period, and Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Sociocultural Studies from 2017 to 2023.
His research lines include the sociological study of journalism and public communication.
Actualmente es profesor-investigador de tiempo completo del Departamento de Comunicación de la Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA), México.
Es integrante de los comités científicos o editoriales de las revistas Sur Le Journalisme (Francia); Brazilian Journalism Research (Brasil); Balajú Revista de Cultura y Comunicación (México); Revista Mexicana de Comunicación (México).
Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores Nivel II.
Fue presidente de la Asociación Mexicana de Investigadores de la Comunicación (AMIC) en el periodo 2017-2019.
Fue jefe del Departamento de Comunicación de la Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes para el periodo 2011-2014, y coordinador del Doctorado en Estudios Socioculturales del 2017 al 2023.
Sus líneas de investigación son el estudio sociológico del periodismo, y los estudios de la comunicación pública.
