GERMAN SOTO, VICENTE

Prof. Vicente Germán Soto holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Barcelona, Spain, and is a tenured professor in the Faculty of Economics at the Autonomous University of Coahuila. He is a Level III member of the National System of Researchers and a full member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences and the International Society for Development & Sustainability. He has published more than 70 articles in research journals and is the author of several books. For his research career, he was named “Researcher of the Year” in 2019; he also won first place in the “2025 Annual Economic Research Award”; and for his significant contributions to the humanities, science, and innovation, the Autonomous University of Coahuila awarded him the “Medal of Scientific Merit” in 2026. His research field is mainly focused on applied Econometrics, time series analysis, co-integration models, dynamic panel data and spatial econometrics. Recent research includes the estimation of regional economic growth models, stochastic convergence, income inequality, knowledge economy and the study of methods for the construction and complement of economic databases where they are lacking.
