Dr. Rendón-Maldonado JG.- Graduated as a Pharmaceutical Chemist Biologist, Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa (April 1994). Master and Doctor in Sciences, Experimental Pathology, Dept. of Infectomics and Molecular Pathogenesis, Cinvestav–IPN Zacatenco, Mexico City (May 1997 and November 2002, respectively). Research stay at Department of Immunology and Microbiology, University of California, School of Medicine, Davis, California, United States (June-December 2000). Work experience. - (1998-1999) Associate researcher, Escuela NAcional de Ciencias Biológicas, IPN, Mexico City. (2001) Laboratory manager Electronic Microcopy Unit, Centro Nacional de Rehabilitacion, SSA, Mexico City (2001-2004) Associate Researcher, Department of Experimental Services, Cinvestav, Mexico City. Currently is a Professor and Researcher full-time "C" indefinite, Facultad de Ciencias Químico Biológicas-UAS. Research. - Responsible for more than 25 research projects that have been funded by PROFAPI-UAS and the State Council of Science and Technology of the State of Sinaloa, as well as by the company through a collaboration agreement. The projects are focused on studying the biology, etiology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases including those caused by bacteria, some parasites and viraus of regional impact. The main infections studied are gastroenteritis caused by parasites, bacteria and viruses, as well as sexually transmitted diseases, leptospirosis and viral infections caused by DENV, HPV, CMV, HIV, RotV, NorV and SARS-Cov-2. The results of the research have generated more than 30 scientific and dissemination publications published in specialized journals, and have been presented at more than 50 national and international congresses. Director of 6 doctoral theses completed, and 3 in process, more than 15 masters in science, and more than 25 bachelor thesis students of the careers of QFB, Biotecnology Genomic, Biology and Dentistry. Basic Biomedical Research Award "Dr. Jorge Rosenkranz" 2003, awarded by Roche-Syntex (October, 2003). Member of the National System of Researchers level 2, member of the Consolidated Academic Group in Public Health (SEP); professor in the subjects of Parasitology, Molecular Virology, Molecular Microbiology, Molecular Diagnosis and Human Development, of the QFB program; as well as Cellular and Molecular Biology in the Master's and Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences (FCQB-UAS); PROMEP Profile (SEP) from 2006 to date. Member of the Mexican Society of Parasitology and Mexican Society of Virology.
