Dr. Sanjeet Kumar Verma is a full Professor at the Department of Applied Geosciences, Instituto Potosino de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica, San Luis Potosí, México. He received his PhD in Igneous Petrology and Geochemistry from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Mexico in 2012 and Postdoctorate from the University of Campinas, Brazil in 2015. His research focuses on geochemistry, petrogenesis of igneous rocks, including isotope geochemistry and geochronology in order to address the following themes: 1) define the evolution of magmatic rocks of igneous province 2) to decipher the composition of crustal vs. mantle source i.e., related to the degree of melting and mode of magma generation and emplacement 3) understand plate tectonic processes on the basis of geochemistry and discrimination diagrams in area of igneous petrology. He is a fellow of The Royal Society, London, United Kingdom. He has published more than 31 peer-reviewed papers and three book chapters, with around 1400 citations and an h-index of over 22 (google scholar). He has supervised 6 theses at the undergraduate and 10 at the graduate (9 Master’s and 4 Doctor’s) levels. He is part of the editorial team of the three journals 1. Advances in Geoscience, and 2. Geochemistry (Elsevier). 3. Discover Geoscience (Springer). His current projects are 1) Geochemistry and Petrogenesis of the San Luis Potosí Volcanic, Mexico. 2) Geodynamic Evolution of Bundelkhand craton, India. 3) X-ray fluorescence calibration from Uncertainty Weighted least-squares Linear Regression. He has delivered about 20 invited talks in different Institutions and 30 oral talks in scientific meetings.
